  April
  
  “The restoration center - architecture manufacture training" (RC-AMT) acquired a license for carrying out practical study on the basis of training unite №1.  From now on the center has a certificate for conducting of vocational training (1 year), professional retraining (3 months), courses of improvement of qualification (2-3 weeks), courses of practical study on professions of restorer of monuments of wooden architecture and restorer of monuments of stone architecture (from 3 days to 2 weeks).
  
  On April, 29, 2008 an article about training of restorers was published in the district newspaper “New life”.
  
  A business contact was established with the Center of employment of population of Kirillov district. Informative materials were prepared and sent to the Department of employment of population of the Vologda region and to all district centers of employment.
  
  The manager of training unite J.V.Gusarin worked on the basis of Kirillov  secondary  school in a commission on carrying out a district competition of creative projects in a labour discipline.
  He talked to the participants of competition about the restoration center, everybody was given out advertising materials.
  
  May
  
  On May, 5, 2008 the restoration center met the representatives of the Construction college №26 (Moscow). They discussed the plans of cooperation, gave out advertising materials.
  
  The training unite developed information-advertising materials and directed them to professional schools of the Vologda region and also to educational establishments: Vologda state technical university (Construction faculty), Vologda state pedagogical university (Historical faculty), Arkhangelsk state technical university (Forestry faculty, Construction faculty, Department of wood processing, Department of furniture and design, Department of sawing and planing works), Petrozavodsk state university (Construction faculty, Department of organization of building manufacture, Department of architecture), Syktyvkar forest school, Ukhta state technical university,  Murmansk state pedagogical university.
  Information materials were directed to building organizations and firms of Vologda, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Pskov and other areas.
  
  The restoration center maid the first steps on creation of an office of the historical handicraft tool. Unique tools of 15-20 cent are stored in the funds of center. Details about this exhibition are in 
  the section “manufacture”.
  
  A discussion with the representatives of the Savings bank about loan extension to the population for training in the restoration center took place in the town Kirillov. The bank refused to finance the education, because a loan can be given only for training in higher educational establishments (having the state accreditation).
  
  The center sent a letter to the Head of Kirillov district S.V.Usov with the request to finance training of youth getting a profession of restorer.
  
  June
  
  On June, 7, 2008  the articles under the head “Handicraftsman” devoted to the center’s work were published in the district newspaper «New life».
  
  The center adjusted cooperation with the regional newspaper «Our Vologda». This newspaper published a material about the director of restoration center Popov A.V. (№24 June, 17, 2008) 
  
  On the basis of the, centre some pupils of professional school №59 were trained.                    (photo №1) Ivan Sipakov (to the left) and Alexey Kochergin proved their abilities in concrete affairs. We wish them success in the future. Trade connected with restoration is very claimed now days.
  On June, 23, 2008 children from health-improving camp of the center of social service visited the restoration center. Young visitors (photo №2) talked to the architect Lyudmila Lupushor, and then got acquainted with the exhibition of the ancient craft tool, visited the joiner's shop and watched process of building of a Russian log house. They were glad to work with construction tools! (photo №3)
  
  July
  
  On July, 1, 2008 a professional retraining started in the centre. Alexey Sibirjakov, Nikolay Kokvin, Alexander Hvatov studied special features of restoration of monuments of wooden architecture. On the first day pupils visited a museum where they got acquainted with the objects restored and being restored (photo №4) by the restoration centre. They enjoyed it!
  An information about the centre and educational activities was placed on the site  “Handicraftsman of Russia”. It was placed in the section: educational institutions.
  On July, 3, 2008 the director of training unit №1 Belyashov S.V. talked to the chairman of regional committee on affairs of youth Smirnov P.A. about joint training of youth.
  The general director of the "RC-AMT" Popov A.V. organized meetings with the representatives of Fund of protection of monuments (Poland) for the purpose of establishment of cooperation in training of experts-restorers.
  The General director Popov A.V. sent letters with the petition for financing restorers’ training and carrying out of restoration works to the heads of companies: “Gasprom” (Miller A.B.), “Lukoil” (Alekperov V. J.), “Severstal” (Mordashov A.A.), “Interros” (Potanin V.O), “Vologdaoil” (Tamodina G. G).
  
  On July, 19,  2008 the district newspaper «New life» published some new articles about activities of the centre.
  The restoration centre placed an order for the state accreditation in the Department of  Education of the Vologda region. The training unit was put in the schedule of accreditation for April, 2009. Under condition of successful accreditation our graduates will get certificates of the state sample.
  
  August
  
  In August, 2008 experts of the centre began to restore an architectural monument - church of Ilia the Prophet (1696) in the town Belozersk.
  On August, 20, 2008 the head of Federal service on supervision of legislation observance in the field of cultural heritage protection Alexander Kibovsky (photo №5,6,7,8) arrived with work visit to the restoration center. The General director of the "RC-AMT" Alexander
  Popov showed the guest the local sites and they exchanged opinions concerning training  of restorers in Russia.
  On August, 20, 2008 the centre accepted participants of the VIIth All-Russia congress of heads of bodies of protection of historical and cultural monuments.  With great interest they acquainted themselves with the economic basis of the restoration centre, visited the exhibition of the ancient craft tool, a building site, shops and also church of Ilia the Prophet. Participants of the congress ( photo №9, 10) asked interesting questions to the founder of the centre Alexander Popov. His graphic speech impressed everybody. They also talked about problems of restoration to mention them in the congress decision. Among the visitors there were rectors of higher educational institutions of Russia, directors of professional schools. They got acquainted with educational documents and written final works of the students.
  Materials about the centre of Alexander Popov were published in the orthodox newspaper "Russian bulletin", the magazine "Heritage of the people of Russian Federation", and the Greek newspaper "Omonoia". In September the magazine "Outlook" (USA)  placed on the Internet portal a material about Kirillov restorers . In the future some materials about the centre will be published in the foreign editions, such as the magazine "The circle" (Austria), the newspaper "England" (Great Britain).
   The studio of documentary films of St.Peterburg (director A.Kiselyov) and the Moscow film studio "Canon” (producer S.Lomkin) expressed their wish to shoot a documentary film about the restorers of the town Kirillov.
  Journalists of the federal channel "Culture" also want to shoot a film about work of the restoration centre.
  
  September
  
  Masters of the center passed to a completion phase of restoration of the main object of restoration the church of Ilia the Prophet on the hill of Tsypino. They painted facades, conducted roofing works. (photo №11)
  
  October
  
  On October, 1, 2008 professional education of restorers of wooden architecture started in the training unit. Kuznetsov Artem (Goritsy), Keinashvily Shacro (Kirillov), Aleksandrov Alexey (Kirillov), Chumin Artem (Kirillov) began to learn there. Training will last till June, 4, 2009.
  On October, 3, 2008 the leavers of the training unit retrained in profession of restorer and  builder (photo №12) were delivered certificates. The chairman of board of examiners Galina Ivanova (director of the Kirillo-Belozersky memorial estate) warmly greeted graduates and told them parting words. Elena Sushchevina, the head of the department of education of administration of Kirillov district took part in the ceremony. The director of the centre Alexander Popov, the architect of the highest category, the Winner of the State award appreciated successes of graduates. All graduates are employed.
  October, 23  Newspaper the Zemlya kirillovskaya published materials about the work of the centre under the heading "Handicraftsman".
  In October the director and  producer of the film studio «Kanon» Sergey Grigorjevich Lomkin visited the center. The purpose of his visit was acquaintance with the objects on which the Limited Liability Company “Restoration Center - architecture, manufacture, training” conducts restoration. They also chose a platform for shooting a documentary film about restorers.
  
  November
  
  November, 10 The article “Russia: to restore so as ancestors built” was published in the Austrian magazine the Shire krug.
  November, 21 Newspaper the England (Great Britain) has published an article about the restorers of Kirillov.
  
  December
  
  December, 13 The training unit №1 took part in the fair of educational places organized by the Center of employment of people. All interested persons received reference materials about the rules of admission to the school of restorers.
  From the 11th till the 24th of December pupils of the course of vocational training getting a job of restorer of wooden architecture passed intermediate certification. They passed examinations and tests in labour safety, technology of restoration works, basic woodworking machines  and tools, drawing, professional training, bases of work on a computer.
  December, 17  Pupils of the 9th  class studying at Kirillov secondary school (teacher Lebedeva I.L.) visited the restoration center. They acquainted with the exhibition of tools, classes, asked some interesting questions. It appeared that not only boys but also girls are interested in profession of carpenter. The center is ready to admit everybody who wants to study at school of restores.
  December, 29 The training unit №1 organized a meeting of pupils of a course of vocational training and their parents. From that day the pupils had their vacation which lasted till January, 11th, 2009.
