Work / production
Restoration production process can exist effectively only with two-way communication between designing and work. At the same time it is of vital importance to have a production basis and a whole structure the lower unit of which is a worker and the upper one – an architect.
Let’s examine the components of the production process.
Basis
Basis is a complex of buildings, structures and equipment which gives an opportunity to provide the whole production process, for example, when working with wood:
- selection of the material in the forest
- logging (felling or hewing, hauling, storing, removal)
- material preparation (barking, impregnation / steeping of wood, sawing and drying of the part of the material; everything is accompanied by sorting and storing)
- production
- delivery and assemblage of the complete product
Structure
Production is impossible without an existing structure. Only coordinated actions of the whole group of professionals with the competent use of productive capacity allow to achieve required quality of work. The form of allocation of responsibilities was developed already in the Soviet period, but it has shown its viability in our time as well. A worker, a team-leader, a foreman, a section foreman, an architect are links of one chain. During restoration work on the monument we continue its examination. Constant presence of the architect at all stages of work gives an opportunity to control the production process and to correct design decisions in time.
